Student speaker: Jonathan Hart, graduating with a bachelor's degree in business administration.

Honorary degree recipients: Omar Kader; Jack B. Parson Jr., chairman for Staker & Parson Cos.; Robert H. DeBoer, a 37-year career WSU employee; and Jean Andra Miller, a language professor who taught at WSU for 34 years.

Faculty awards:


• The 2004 Hinckley Award: Kent Van De Graaff, professor of zoology.
• The 2004 Dixon Award: Rosemary Conover, anthropology professor.
• Faculty member of the year: Jeff Grunow assistant professor and chairman of WSU's Emergency Care and Rescue Department, who will receive the Dr. Ezekiel R. Dumke College of Health Professions Award.
